What is Apple going to do with the Iphone v4?

Apple aren’t in their best PR moment, in fact nobody knows what Apple’s final answer is on this service. A phone that looses coverage is a serious issue, what really amazes me is that some techies are saying that it is still a great device for all the other options you get with it…Should we then called it the Ipod v4?

Apple will soon address this issue with a flashy presentation but recalling 3 million devices for a non critical (general opinion) issue would be unlikely. Here are some theories:

1. Apologize
Apple may need to make a public acknowledgment (not stating that it’s just a software issue) that they rushed the device and that the new antenna may really have issues.

2. Put Steve Jobs Front and Center
A face that everybody knows and “trusts” always goes a long way.

3. Explain What Went Wrong — and Why Apple Blamed the Software
Apple could explain in detail what is really wrong. That would help all of us to stop guessing.

4. Offer a Real Fix to Consumers Now
Microsoft messed up with the first Xbox 360 versions, they extended the warranty to a 3 year instead of a 1…

5. If That Fix Is a ‘Bumper,’ Explain Whether the Phone Will Be Changed Later

Depending on what the solution is, they should state how they are going to solve this in future models. This would bring back customer confidence.

Iphone 4 issues

I have yet to see an Iphone 4 in Marbella/Puerto Banus but I think that in this case it’s probably better that way.

When you hear a water fall, there must be water close by. In the case of the Iphone 4, there must be a lot of water fall now because it’s no longer a rumor; Yes some Iphone’s (v4) don’t work very well when held incorrectly:

Apple statement:
“Avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.”

Such an expensive toy that not a lot of people fully use can be fixed with a simple bumper or protect casing.
